What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior AU Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll, managing client accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will play a key role in delivering excellent client service by helping clients stay compliant and confident in their finances, while also supporting management with timely, reliable reports to guide strategic decision-making.
Your main responsibilities:
- End-to-end Bookkeeping: You are a well seasoned bookkeeper, having worked primarily in Xero and consider yourself a Xero super user. You also have some experience using other accounting platforms such as MYOB or Quickbooks. You know the process from start to end, and are able to pick up a file, understand it, and start working on it with a high level of accuracy and aptitude.
- Payroll processing: You understand Australian payroll and the complexities, such as Superannuation, payroll tax and PAYG. You have deep experience in processing payroll using Xero (and other platforms) and strive for 100% accuracy on each pay run. You know how to work payroll settings to ensure the right outcome each time.
- AR & AP processing: You have experience using Xero plugins such as HubDoc and DEXT to manage documents received from clients. You have plenty of experience processing invoices, bills and expenses, and understand the impact of these on the accounts and financial reports.
- Client management: You are able to organise your time effectively, and work independently when required. You have experience communicating directly with clients when working on files to ensure you have collected and processed the right documents. When you have client queries, you are organised, systematic and professional in reaching out to clients to get what you need.
- Regulatory Compliance and control : Experienced in ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, managing BAS/IAS lodgements, and maintaining accurate, reliable financial records and reporting.
What your profile will look like:
- Must have - Minimum 5+ years experience: Demonstrable experience as an AU Bookkeeper, is a must.
- Must have - Strong communication skills: Fluent written & oral English skills.
- Must have - Australian client experience: Experience working in bookkeeping for Australian companies or clients, is a must.
- Must have -Degree in Finance or Accounting and Qualified in CIMA, CMA, ACCA, or CA
